Lisa Maria Baier is a young contemporary German artist who specialises in visual art. She completed her studies at the Dresden University of Fine Arts (HfBK) and the University of Fine Arts Budapest.
In her exhibition "Equipment", the artist takes a critical look at topics such as armour, tools, weapons, prison, uniformity and violence. The videos, photographs and texts on display come from her personal archive and shed light on historical and current developments in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Poland, Saxony and Rotterdam. The focus is particularly on Bosnia-Herzegovina's difficult rapprochement with the EU and the war crimes of the 1990s. Her aim is to stimulate discussion and a change of perspective. She has also used artificial intelligence to visualise interviews and link images with texts, enabling new interpretations. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on history, politics and technology.
The exhibition can be previewed at the gallery tour on 21 September 2024 from 3 pm to 6 pm before the opening on Friday, 27 September 2024 at 7 pm.
