Björn Peter Thisell (born1982) is a singer-songwriter from Sweden. With a name that evokes a sense of place and celebration, "Visseltofta Folkfest" is Björn Peter Thisell’s first solo album, a deeply personal exploration that blends singer/songwriter sensibilities with folk, country, and rock influences.

The creation of "Visseltofta Folkfest" was a long journey, set on finding the right format for each song while staying true to the vision for the record. Recording multiple versions of each track, the process was marked by both frustration and revelation. The most memorable moment was discovering the album's distinct sound and feel.

Produced by Peter Thisell and Per-Ola Eriksson, the album was recorded in Peter’s home with some live sessions featuring his band, including Malin Näslund on bass and vocals, Beatrice Rosdahl on guitar and vocals, Wilmer Persson on drums, and Peter handling lead vocals, guitars, organ, and percussion.

Special contributions include Björn Kleinhenz on acoustic guitar for "Poncho," Ida Wenøe on vocals for "Human Animals," Joseph Jeppsson on pedal steel guitar for "Pig Meat," Karin Wiberg on violin for "Pray A Star Shines" and "(At Night) Morning Light," and Per-Ola Eriksson on guitar and piano/synths on several tracks. Every song on "Visseltofta Folkfest" holds special significance for Peter, with tracks like "Poncho," "Visseltofta," and "Pig Meat" standing out as particularly resonant. These songs feel like the most authentic expressions of Peter's artistry, reflecting a dedicated effort in every aspect from writing to production.

The album's musical style is a rich tapestry of singer/songwriter, folk, country, and rock, drawing inspiration from artists like Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Courtney Marie Andrews, and Neil Young. Though deeply personal, the music should speak to anyone who appreciates heartfelt and honest expression.

Following the album's release, Björn Peter Thisell will embark on a European tour throughout 2024 and 2025, and is already working on the next project. With "Visseltofta Folkfest," BPT invites listeners to join in a celebration of genuine music that resonates on a profoundly personal level.
