We invite you to spend queer times (with us)! The event combines a scenic city walk tracing queer histories, a workshop exploring research materials collectively and a visionary tea leaf reading ceremony.
The event highlights memories of queer life, love, joy and challenges in Dresden and Wrocław, aiming to discover different stories in familiar places.
11:30-13:00 Irène Mélix: „Assembling Queer Histories“ (scenic city walk) @ Kiosk-Café, central on Postplatz
Strolling through Dresden city center but changing the lenses, this walk invites you to deviate from what you already know and follow the traces of queer histories. Once the archival files shake off their dust and we puzzle together stories, places and voices, we can imagine how queer lives, affections and loves were happening.
13:00-14:00 lunch break
14:00 die Blaue Distanz (Adam Erdmann & Franzi Goralski): „Archival Jam“ (Input+Workshop) @ Hole of Fame
What spatial aspects define the unique character of queer spaces? Do archetypes of queer spaces exist? If so, what are their defining characteristics? We invite you on a collective journey to explore recent research materials—including field notes, personal stories, photographs, and maps—gathered in Split/Croatia. Join us in our ongoing project, Open Glossary for Queer (Immaterial) Architectures, as we delve into archiving spatial documentation and uncovering hidden, overlooked gems.
15:30-16:00 afternoon break
16:00-17:30 Liliana Zeic: „Afternoon cup of tea“ (tea leaves reading ceremony) @ Hole of Fame
A fortune-telling ritual by tea leaves will be held by Liliana Zeic. The artist designed two special tea blends for the occasion: one for reading the future and one for learning about the past. The act of collective fortune-telling will enable us to learn about what has already happened and what the future holds for queer communities.
The event is perfect for shy individuals, offering a calm and cozy atmosphere. Interaction is not required, but there are multiple ways to engage—or you can simply listen. You are free to join or leave the event at any time.
