TransMegaCobla Project Release Tour mit Sewicide, Laure Boer, Peace Generator, Datasawala und Solaorta
On this evening the Chemnitz based DIY label IN:EX presents a special heart project: Permian volcanism meets linguistic historical upheavals in antiquity. Earth history meets Language history becomes medium, becomes music. Phoenician tomb inscriptions, reinterpreted and performed by the Spanish octet ZA! & TransMegaCobla, get a coat of linen and Zeisigwaldtuff.
After the self-pottery and black-fired tile from the Zeisigwald taken clay for the Indonesian band Senyawa, IN:EX again brings out a recycled cassette in an eye- catching packaging together with the stonemason Till Apfel and a variety of remix artists from the label's mycellic-artistic environment.
With sewicide the hot needle scratches the concrete. The Munich artists and musicians Klaus Erika Dietl and Steffi Müller aka Rag*Treasure (beißpony/ ChicksOnSpeed Records) appreciate splinters in the sound. Grating pop chirps between bytes and beats. Gentle record crackles weave through melodic carpets. Sometimes sewing machine rhythms meet deep bass lines. Then tender vocals rub against dissonant language barriers. Live, the stage becomes an open workshop. Klaus Erika Dietl and Stephanie Müller are always looking for exchange with others and lecture performances with artists such as Wolfgang Müller (Die Tödliche Doris), Vivien Goldman (The Flying Lizards) and Mascha Alechina (Pussy Riot). In 2015 Dietl and Müller started with musicians from Japan's underground scene the international collective ALLIGATOR GOZAIMASU.
Laure Boer
is a multi-instrumentalist. She lives and works in Berlin. Her music is influenced by contemporary noise as well as traditional folklore. Boer's live performances are hypnotic improvisations: classical instruments, strange percussion and her voice, which in French - Laures Boer's native language - sings or recites. A pulsating universe of sound, fragile and brutal at the same time. In the fall of 2021, she did a three-month artist residency at the Sound Art Lab in Denmark, an institution located in the former Bang&Olufsen factories that is entirely dedicated to sound art. 2020 Laure Boer won the one-month Amplify Berlin mentorship program of the Acud and worked with her mentor Rabih Beaini, founder of Morphine Records. In 2019, she was selected to do a two-month Artist Residency in Manila, Philippines. Sponsors and and organizers of the residency and the associated festival in Manila are the Manila are the Goethe-Institut, CTM Festival, Nusasonic and Musicboard Berlin. Her music has been released on the Kashual Plastik, Chinabot and Tsuku Boshi and was featured on the compilation "Below the Radar" by the magazine The Wire magazine.
If not anywhere abroad, peace generator is filtering bits and hiss from machines and other sounding sources from around the atmosphere. Led by accident and evolvement, delusive electronic shapes aim to decompose and dissolve, one might see them if listening closely. See also: left-field sound, abstract electronica, generative folkloristic spirit.
Datasawala is the pseudonym of Helmi Adibani, who came from Indonesia to Chemnitz and is part of the permanent core of the IN:EX team. His sound is a carefully woven fluffy flying carpets of wafting ambient clouds and gently roaring drone waves.
Solaorta is the pandemic sound self-help group from the first ranks of the label consisting of Ahmed Vegas, Convs and Risch Rümsten, who together create dreamlike sound on selfmade instruments and obsolete machines.
